Neighbourhood Heart Community Hackathon
Join other local people from Becontree, Valence and Whalebone for a friendly, creative gathering exploring what matters in our neighbourhood - and what we might make happen together.
You might already have an idea. You might have noticed something you would like to change. Or perhaps you are simply curious, want to meet other local people or would like to become more involved. You don't need a finished plan or any particular experience. Just bring your ideas, local knowledge and curiosity.
Together, we will: share what we are noticing in our neighbourhood; uncover the people, places and strengths already around us; explore ideas that could help neighbours meet, connect and contribute; help one another develop and strengthen those ideas; discover different ways to get involved.
Have a small idea you would like to try? The Neighbourhood Heart Giveaway offers local people £100 to test small ideas that could bring neighbours together. The Hackathon gives you a welcoming space to talk through your idea, hear other perspectives and develop it with the encouragement of others. It isn't about producing a polished proposal - it's about starting with what matters locally and discovering what might be possible.
Everyone who lives, works or has a connection to Becontree, Valence or Whalebone is welcome. Refreshments will be provided. Come and add what only you can bring. Select "Reserve a spot" to sign up and join us.
